Bridge Coach is here

Bridge news

Bridge Coach is a new way to learn based on the bridge you actually play!

Bridge is a wonderful game. It is also a wonderfully good game at making you wonder, five minutes after the cards have gone back in the board, whether you could have done something rather better.

That is where Bridge Coach comes in.

Bridge Coach is a new way to learn from the bridge you actually play.

Rather than giving you another collection of prepared hands or theoretical exercises, Bridge Coach starts with your own club sessions. Upload the results, find yourself in the field, and you can explore every board you played, see what happened around the room and get coaching based on the decisions you actually faced.

Learn from every session

After a session, Bridge Coach can help you look beyond the final percentage.

You can:

  • browse every board you played

  • see the traveller and compare your result with the rest of the field

  • review the hands

  • get personalised coaching on individual boards

  • replay selected hands and try a different line

  • spot recurring strengths and weaknesses across multiple sessions

  • build up a personalised coaching profile over time

A 43% board is not automatically a mistake, and a top does not necessarily mean you played perfectly. Bridge Coach is designed to look at the bridge behind the score.

Your bridge, your partnership

Bridge is a partnership game, so good coaching needs to know what you and your partner actually play.

You can create partnerships and record your bidding and carding agreements, whether that means a straightforward Acol system, Benji, 2-over-1 or something rather more inventive.

That allows the coaching to distinguish between a mistake and a perfectly sensible bid made according to your partnership methods.

From individual hands to the bigger picture

One questionable 3NT is interesting.

Stopping in the wrong strain six times in three months is much more useful to know.

The Coaching Dashboard brings together insights from all your analysed sessions to highlight:

  • what you are doing well

  • the areas most worth working on

  • recurring patterns

  • recent improvement

  • useful hands to revisit

The aim is simple: not to tell you everything that happened, but to help you decide what to work on next.

Built for ordinary club bridge

Bridge Coach is being built around the bridge most of us actually play: club duplicates, regular partners, occasional misunderstandings, slightly optimistic games and the odd contract we would rather nobody mentioned again.

It is not designed to replace the pleasure of playing bridge.

It is designed to make the next session a little more interesting than the last one.

Play. Review. Learn. Play better.
